From the President’s desk …The Centre Sèvres is specialized in studies for Philosophy and Theology. It devotes itself to these fundamental disciplines through teaching, research and publications according to academic methods. Through the various departments, it offers reflections in esthetic, bio medical ethics, patristic, religious life and spirituality, interreligious dialogue and Chinese studies. |

To realize its objectives, the Centre Sèvres is blessed with a stable teaching staff, united in spiritual references and understanding with a positive relation to the world of today. Along with its invited staff, it opens itself to many other competences, in a diversity of specializations.
Henri LAUX sjTeaching is a component of an educative project that tends to integrate the intellectual dimension with the personal growth of everyone. It initiates a pedagogy of accompaniment, adapted to adults and with the care to orient them in the respect of their freedom. It caters to students and auditors – lay, religious and priests from different parts of the world. This enables a healthy exchange conducive for communication and intellectual debates. The mission of Centre Sevres is at the service of the French and the universal Church in view of the contemporary world. It aims specifically to religious life in its different forms. It is a part of the world network of Jesuit academic schools, which facilitates collaboration and an exchange of teaching staff. In line with the questions raised today by faith, cultures and societies, we want to propose a reflection inspired by the importance of human dignity and the living strength of the Gospel. Today’s challenges call for principles of thought and action that must be inspired by Hope. This is what we try to live and pass on. I wish everyone to find here what may help in one’s own search. Kind regards, |
